Personal life

Sue was born in Portland, Oregon to a Chinese American family in 1942 [1]. He lived in a predominantly White neighborhood with his parents, four brothers, and one sister Cite error: A <ref> tag is missing the closing </ref> (see the help page)..In addition to being a professor of psychology at Teachers College, Sue has also served on Bill Clinton's President's Advisory Board on Race in 1996.[7] He has also served as a past president of the Society for the Psychological Study of Ethnic Minority Issues, a co-founder and first president of the Asian American Psychological Association, and the president of the Society of Counseling Psychology of the American Psychological Association. [8]

He has written over 150 publications on various topics such as multicultural competencies and racial microaggressions.[9]
