Nitin Pradhan is the current Departmental Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the United States Department of Transportation (DOT). He was sworn in on July 6, 2009 as part of the Obama Administration. Mr. Pradhan provides vision, strategy, planning and oversight for DOT’s information technologies $3.0 billion portfolio. He is also the chief advisor to Secretary Ray LaHood and Deputy Secretary John Porcari in matters relating to information, technology, cyber-security, privacy, and records management. [1]
Prior to joining DOT, Mr. Pradhan was an IT executive with the Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS). Prior to joining FCPS, Mr. Pradhan was the Managing Director of Virginia’s Center for Innovative Technology (CIT).
