I'm GreenHillsOfAfrica, I grew up in Bimini and immigrated to Canada about 5 years ago to study literature.

I created a Wikipedia account to help work on articles surrounding authors, religion, art, and other things I find interesting. I've been all around the world - to India, Spain, Morocco, Liberia, Senegal, the Gambia, France, England, Cuba - Ask me, and I'll tell you about them and more!

My Relationship with Catholicism

I've decided to make it a bit of a mission of mine to start cracking down on lots of the really poor discussion of Catholicism here on Wikipedia. I have a very conflicted personal relationship with Catholicism that has really compelled me to make this my mission on Wikipedia. I grew up, and spent fifteen years of my adult life active in church, while I am sympathetic to Jesus, and to many of the beliefs promoted by the Bible (read Isaiah 61, please), I consider the church I love dangerous.

It is my solemn belief that Catholicism, as represented by the average chronically-online, church-every-Sunday, Catholic, is a danger to numerous aspects of the prosperity that we experience in the modern day. In my travels around the world, I have watched Catholicism beat down and berate everyone from the poor to the rich. When possible, I will make it my goal to take theological and ideological compulsions, which are so often endorsed by the church as absolute truth, out of Wikipedia, and to keep them out.
