Dr. Marco Cianni [1][9][10][16][17][18] (1st November 1969[1][20]) is a British[1] Fellow[2][9][10], Chartered Engineer[3][9][17], consultant[11][15] entrepreneur[10] and philanthropist. Establishing scholarship awards along with sponsorship and mentoring to support students who wish to get into engineering in the UK, USA, Australia and Asia Pacific, recognised with a Bronze Award from Professor Ian Martin Vice Chancellor at Anglia Ruskin University in 2016.[19]

Elected Fellow of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects in 2023[citation required], and admitted to the UK Engineering Council register as a Chartered Engineer in 2022[3] following election to the Royal Aeronautical Society.[4][18] Admitted to the National Engineering Register, International Professional Engineers Agreement including the United States of America[21], and Asia Pacific Engineering Register (APEC) in 2021. Elected Fellow of the Institution of Engineers Australia in 2018, and is a Chartered Professional Engineer in Leadership and Management, and Information, Telecommunications and Electronics Engineering (ITEE).[2]

He is CTO at Raptohna Inc. since 2019.[1] Prior to this he was appointed Vice President for energy markets part of the management team at Pactel International, having joined from Harris CapRock Communications (a division of Harris Corporation[13] now L3Harris Technologies [14]) where he served as Director for Australasia, with over 25 years’ experience in the satellite industry.[5][6][7]. Pactel International was subsequently acquired by Australian private company Speedcast for US$55 million[8] with Harris CapRock Communications also being acquired by Speedcast for US$425 million[12].

Among his current role as CTO at Raptohna Inc. he conducts research and experimental development on natural sciences and engineering, technical testing and analysis, engineering design activities for industrial process and production and engineering related scientific and technical consulting activities.[15] Raptohna received a Crown Award for Innovation, and a grant from the European Union Regional Development Fund to support their electronic health passport project in 2021, before the UK's formal exit from the European Union fund. [citation required].

He holds an Office of Communications (Ofcom) HAREC[20] and an indefinitely valid Advanced (Full) international 4kW radiocommunications licence with the call sign M0OER.16] Which fulfils the requirements laid down by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), comparable with level 1 as indicated in CEPT Recommendation T/R 61-01 (HAREC) entitling him to a national licence class A in any participating country.[20]
