Motorsport Events Limited is a UK based company formed in October 1999 that has various interests in the motorsport industry and the luxury goods sector. The company was set up by champion racing driver Edward Moore drawing on his experience in the motorsport industry which saw him win several national championships, work as a driver coach with exotic sportscars and launch various products into the motorsport industry. The company has operated track days, corporate events and driving experience days at many venues including both airfields and race tracks throughout the UK. Products marketed into the racing industry are brands owned by Motorsport Events Ltd such as Hedtec crash helmets, Wiz Wheels and MSE GEM Brake calipers and brake pads.
History
Moore began by following his Father to race tracks as young boy and then supporting other drivers at race meetings and practice days. All the while he was saving any earnings he accrued from working on the family farm and with this money began racing karts in the late 1980's and this culminated in various regional championship wins and being a works driver for the Danish Dino Team. He then embarked on Formula Ford racing with a bank loan and attracted commercial backers. Moore raced in various categories and twice won the National Formula Ford 1600 Championship and won many races at circuits such as Castle Combe, Mallory Park, Silverstone, Brands Hatch, Snetterton and help lap records at multiple circuits. In 1998 he suffered a leg breaking accident in a Formula Palmer Audi Car at Donington Park and had a very difficult year, but he never lost confidence and at the end of the year starred in testing by outpacing future F1 driver Anthony Davidson in a Ray Formula Ford Zetec car. He also starred in a BMW M3 CSL and GTR in Britcar racing and has even raced for fun a Citroen C1 in endurance events. When his own career stalled and funds could not be gathered to keep advancing through the sport Moore created Motorsport Events Limited and throughout the life of the business the company has been run by Moore and his wife Natasha who began her career in the motorsport sector by working for Motorsportvision immediately after graduating from University.
Track Day & Corporate Events
Motorsport Events Limited are one of the UK's busiest track day organisers, these are events for like minded car enthusiasts and offer the chance to drive legally off the public highway without speed limits, but in a controlled environment. Motorsport Events Ltd have run events like these and also driver training and corporate events at venues such as Hullavington airfield, Keevil airfield, Colerne airfield, Bassingbourn Army Barracks, Abingdon airfield, Upper Heyford airfield, North Weald airfield, RAF Lyneham and at Castle Combe, Llandow, Pembrey, Silverstone, Mallory Park, Goodwood and Thruxton race tracks. The events have a reputation for being slickly run with a strong emphasis on high driving standards.
Product Sales
Being well known throughout the UK motorsport industry as a successful driver and also meticulous motorsport engineer, Moore has marketed several very successful products into the racing industry. Unipro Laptiming systems was the first commercially available on board lap timing system available for Karting and car racing and Moore launched this product with huge success.
In 2009 Motorsport Events Ltd created the now famous Hedtec crash helmet brand, these professional motorsport helmets now dominate the UK national market and are sold worldwide and used by big brands such as Silverstone, Goodwood and Aston Martin on events and have even been worn by Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex.
Motorsport Events Ltd have handled nearly all sales of steel racing wheels into the Formula Ford market since 2003, the latest wheels designed by legendary wheel guru Les Weller are now called Wiz Wheels and were launched in 2019 with massive success and are marketed as a superior and more accurate product to anything else in the sector.
Driver Coaching & Professional Driving
At all Motorsport Events Limited track days professional driver coaches with successful competition pedigrees are available to offer coaching to help drivers advance their skills. Edward Moore himself is also well known for being one of the regular team of coaches working directly for Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd and has worked for BBC Top Gear as behind the scenes pro-driver and worked with numerous high profile celebrities. This type of work has seen Moore drive at many high profile events such as the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Karting & Stay Sharp
Motorsport Events Limited offer a very popular program of driver training called Stay Sharp, this involves coaching at race tracks, airfields and also using race Karts; Karting has proven to be a tool for even Formula One drivers to remain at their peak of performance because the Karts require all the same skill sets and are also physically demanding to drive.
2019 Jonnny Moore Watches
A major departure for the Motorsport Events Limited business and drawing on their many years of working with premium products is the creation of a new watch brand. Edward Moore is keen to honour the legacy of his Grandfather (Jonny Moore) and so Motorsport Events Limited market a range of luxury watches called Jonny Moore Watches. The ethos for the brand is to instill in people a sense of fair play and to be well mannered, kind and helpful and rediscover forgotten values. There are 7 core models with a multitude of watch faces and strap options. Jonny Moore Watches are sold online, at Shows and are being promoted heavily on social media channels.
