Kelvin Chu

Kelvin Chu co-founded QUAD with Wai Tang and Charles Ho in 2017 and the studio has grown from just three people to a team of 20 staff, with a range of projects including urban planning, a high-rise tower, a cultural centre, luxury residential work and an eco-tech park.[1]

He has been awarded ’40 under 40’ architecture category by the Perspective Magazine. His personal work has been exhibited and published in countries such as Australia, UK and China. [2]

Career

Graduated from the Architectural Association London (AAL) in 2005 and subsequently taught there from 2006-2008.[3] [4] Holding workshop topic such as "Drawing of Urban Plan and Typological Differentiation" Contribution on PROJECTIVE CITIES READING LIST 2011/12, on the topic of Perforated Hill, London, 2002 (Diploma Unit 6, AA London)

He had worked for renowned practices such as FOA, ACME, Plasma Studio and Information Based Architecture and participated in a number of award-winning projects, including the London 2012 Olympic Masterplan, the London BBC White City Music Centre, and the WTC Tower Proposal for New York.

He is also a former adjunct assistant professor at The Chinese University of Hong Kong's School of Architecture.

Before QUAD, Chu was an associate director at Aedas Hong Kong, where he led numerous award-winning projects in China, including the Taichung Bank Headquarters, the Hongqiao World Centre in Shanghai, the Centralcon Shangsha redevelopment in Shenzhen, Shenzhen Luohu Friendship Trading Centre and Chengdu Greenland East Village Complex.
