AP International English Language[edit]

The Advanced Placement International English Language (also known as APIEL or AP International English Language) is a course in AP Examinations managed by Educational Testing Service (ETS) with the sponsorship of the College Board. It designed for non-native speakers to prepare for studying in the English-speaking University particularly in North America. The present APIEL committee consists of high school and university English teachers from Belgium, China, France, Germany, Switzerland, and the United States. (three hours exam for listening, reading, writing and speaking)

AP International English Language requires students to demonstrate the following skills:[1]

The Examination[edit]

The AP International English Language is a three-hour AP international English Language Exam tests for Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. Each pf the skills tested counts for 25% of the total examination grade. Also, students will need about 30 minutes to complete their identifying information on the answer sheet. So,extra time may also be necessary to complete other testing-related activities.

Section I. Multiple-Choice Questions[edit]

The multiple choice section of the APIEL Examination is divided into two parts - Listening and Reading.

Listening[edit]

The listening exam contains approximately 40 multiple-choice questions to be answered in 35 minutes.

Reading[edit]

The reading exam contains approximately 40 multiple-choice questions in 50 minutes.

The free-response section of the APIEL Examination is divided into two parts - Writing and Speaking.
