In 1999, SiamMandalay,[3] a trading and logistics company in Thailand, was at a crossroads. It simply couldn’t keep track of all the moving pieces of its rapidly growing business. There was no software package in the market to manage the information associated with the company’s needs. No company could be found to create a customized solution. In order to solve this problem, SiamMandalay’s founder, Steven Prussky develop his own customized software solution to address his company’s ever demanding logistics needs. Recognizing the commercial demand for business operations software, the growing trend for companies to outsource their technology needs and the explosive growth potential in the global technology market, SiamMandalay created a new technology division, SM Technologies. Aware was founded in 2003 by Steven Prussky. The initial focus was on the development of a custom software application for SiamMandalay,"Parent Company Information". an exporter of handicrafts, home furnishings and furniture. Activities expanded to software services, data center services and outsourcing in the Bangkok market. In 2004 Aware established a data center in Chiang Mai. In 2007 Aware received its ISP License, enabling it to expand its internet services activities. In 2008 Aware established a data center presence in Singapore and the United States. In 2009 Aware received the IBM Star Reseller Award.
Awards and Recognitions[edit]
Aware achieved CMM Level 2 accreditation in June of 2003. Aware's IT Services department achieved ISO 9001:2000 certification in October 2003. Aware's Giftware product won the 2006 TICTA award for Best Industrial Software in Thailand, and placed third in the APICTA awards in Macau that same year.
