Article: Eye Contact#Difficulty with eye contact

People with a chronic mental illness such as schizophrenia, bipolar and depression may also find engaging eye contact with another individual difficult due to the severity of their illness. Eye contact forms a huge part of communication, a person with schizophrenia may be so over whelmed by their delusions or hallucinations that they will find it very difficult to communicate. [1]

Article: Risperidone

  1. "is sold under the trade name Risperdal in the Netherlands, United States, Canada, Australia, United Kingdom, Portugal, Spain, Turkey, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia and several other countries, " this sentence is already in the text. Would it be correct for me to edit and insert "Ireland" as another country. It that edit enough??
  2. "Risperidone is an atypical antipsychotic..." can i edit this to say that;Risperidone is a second generation atypical antipsychotic drug... [2]

Article: Dyskinesia

  1. "Dyskinesia is a movement disorder which consists of effects including diminished voluntary movements[1] and the presence of involuntary movements, similar to tics or chorea."

    I would like to add:

    Dsykinesia can be anything from a slight tremor of the hands to uncontrollable movement of most commonly the upper body but can also be seen in the lower extremities. Discoordiation can also occur internally especially with the respiratory muscles and it often goes unrecognised. [3]

  2. "When a dyskinesia occurs after treatment with an antipsychotic drug such as haloperidol (Haldol) or amoxapine (Asendin), it is known as tardive dyskinesia (TD), and is sometimes seen in the face and mouth in the form of 'tongue rolling'."

    I would like to edit this to...

    Late onset dyskinesia, which is also known as tardive dyskinesia occurs after treatment with an antipsychotic drug such as haloperidol (Haldol) or amoxapine (Asendin). The symptoms include tremors and writhing movements of the body and limbs but is also seen in the face and mouth in the form of 'tongue rolling'. It may also involve unvoluntary lip smacking, repeditive poting of the lips and tongue protrusions. [4]

Article: Seclusion

I would like to add the below as an extra paragraph at the end: Seclusion must only be used in the best interest of the patient, it must only be used as a last resort method and must not be prolonged as a form of punishment on the patient. In Ireland, The Mental Health Commission governs seclusion in psychiatric institutions. The Act states that a person can only be placed in seclusion if, 1. It prevents them from hurting themselves and/or others and 2. That it compies with the rules set out by the Commission.[5]

Article:Addiction

Addiction can also be viewed as a continued involvement with a substance or activity despite the negative consequences associated with it. Pleasure and enjoyment would have originally been sourced, however over a period of time involvement with the substance or activity is needed to feel normal[6].

Article:Anxiety

Anxiety is something that is experienced by everyone at some stage and is a normal experience. The level and reasoning for it to be prevelent determines whether or not it is a normal or abnormal reaction

That all looks very appropriate to me. Nice work. Please come back and edit here any time you want. You don't need to run your work by me unless you have a query. My only observations are

  1. In the first line of Eye contact did you mean to say "engaging in eye contact", or is "engaging eye contact" correct? And "a person with schizophrenia may be so overwhelmed by their delusions or hallucinations that they will find it very difficult to communicate." I'm not really getting why you're mentioning delusions and hallucinations here. Are they connected in some way to the poor eye contact?
  2. In Seclusion, I think you used "much" a couple of times when you meant to say "must".
  3. You missed the last part of the process for getting a book citation from google (Though your handwritten citations look fine). You need to paste the Google Books URL for the book into here and use the text it gives you (at the bottom).
  4. Proof read your work. Spellcheck.

  1. "engaging in eye contact", is what I ment to say!
  2. If a person is seeing/hearing things and are toremented by the same, they are at times unable to maintain eye contact due to the severity of the hallucination/delusion. They are focused on these and are distracted by them. Should I leave that bit out? Or should I explain in more detail with reference to support it?
  3. Sorry about my spelling!!

It's up to you what you do with the eye contact article. Just be clear. You don't have to use the Google template for book citations - handwriting is fine. Please include the page number/s in your citations, so others can check your sources. You are doing very well. Anthony (talk) 17:39, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
  1. How do i enter the page number, I finally found all the books :) but when I copy and paste that into the reference box that pops up, where should I put the page number? When I write my comment in the edit summary box I have been putting the page number there! Is that wrong?
Hi. The right place for the page number is within the citation. I've just done the citations at Dyskinesia. First I pasted the GoogleBooks URL into here and pasted the result into Dyskinesia thus: [1]. Then I inserted |pages= with the page numbers thus: [2]. Because the two ref's had the same name, I changed the beginning of the templates from <ref name="Healy2008"> to <ref>, otherwise only one citation would have appeared. Sorry it's a bit complicated. Hi Elaine. Someone reverted your edit to Anxiety. So I moved it to the end of the lead, deleted a redundant sentence, and changed the GoogleBooks URL into a "citation template" [3]. If they revert it again, it may be necessary to argue on the article's talk page for its inclusion. Anthony (talk) 04:04, 18 December 2010 (UTC)
