Hatem Mohammed Al-Shamea حاتم محمد الشماع known as Hatem Al-Shama'a, was born in (1978). Hatem Mohammed Hatem Al-Shameais a Yemeni (Arab) critic and writer. He is from Bait Al-Shama'a, Hufash district which is part of Al Mahweet Governorate, Yemen. Due to the civil war in his country and his personal perspective, Hatem Al-Shamea fled on the second of December 2021 heading to Egpyt and then to the United Kindom with help from CARA. He has been placed as a visiting researcher in the University of Reading, UK. Hatem published his first book, An Arab Latin-American Cultural Dialogue in 2019. His second controversial book, Will-To-Power: A Search in the Shadows of Colonialism was published in 2020. It traces the unseen colonial bullet that murders the (Arab) colonized in the rubric of fighting terrorism. Islam and Woman: Decoding the 'DNA' of Patriarchy was published in the same year, 2020. Biography

'Hatem was born in a small village called al Ma'azab Bait Al-Shama'a.

Early life

Hatem studied his elementary school in Al Nasr School Bait Al-Shama'a. Then he completed his secondary school in Al Jeel Al Jadeed in Al Mirwah. He then moved to al Mahweet city to do his Bachelor's degree in English at the Faculty of Education, Al Mahweet, Sana'a University.

Hatem spent his early life in pursuing knowledge.

Hatem used to work hard with his father to earn and save money for his study. He was also appointed as a permanent English teacher in 2002.

Marriage and children

Hatem got married twice. His first wife left him while he was in India in 2021. In August 2021, he then got married to Entsar Asseri who is a short story writer.

  • Mohammed (2006) the first son who was born on the same day of the first-anniversary wedding.
  • Houralain (2008) and Malak (2013).

Hatem believes that a human being is created not to be framed and marginalized, but to share, integrate, and coexist
