About me

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to my user page! My name is Helena, but I go by Tate or Hela. I'm a junior in high school and this is my first year doing Running Start. I'm a pretty artistic person and I express that through ice skating and painting. I'm pretty new to ice skating, but I absolutely love sports and unfortunately had to quit my old sport because of Covid-19. Artistic type sports, like gymnastics and dance, are mainly what I love doing. I also spend my pass time painting(mainly glass paintings) and reading. I read all books, but mostly like fantasy books. Another one of my favorite pass times is watching ocean documentaries. I love learning about the ocean, specifically whales! Did you know that killer whales are very social and like to travel in groups, with family units that focus on the mother?[1]

My Wikipedia interests

[edit]

If I decide to continue publishing on Wikipedia, I will probably write about the ocean and whales. I have always found the ocean to be a very interesting place, not only because it's so big and there's so many different species living in it, but also because most of the ocean is unexplored. Whales, especially, have always interested me just by the sheer size of them. They are such gentle creatures, yet they are so huge compared to humans.

Article Evaluation

[edit]

I have always had a big interest in the ocean and all the creatures that live in it. I often watch all sorts of ocean documentaries, just to learn more about it and see all the amazing footage. So, I started looking at Wikipedia pages on different sea creatures, too see if I could find any lesser known ones. I visited the warty frogfish article on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: its overall lack of information, the lack of citations, and the over-representation of sections.

Lack of Information

[edit]

While this Wikipedia page has a decent amount of headings, there is only about one sentence under each heading. The only heading that really has any information under it is called "Description", which in and of itself does not give a good idea of what you are about to read. I feel like the one sentence descriptions under each heading does not give enough information as we should be getting.

Citations

[edit]

There is a total of four references cited for this entire article. This means a lot of the information listed could be false because it is not backed up by any sources. Two of the citations also don't work (when the link is clicked it says error) and the other source is from a ".com" website, which isn't normally the most trusted form of source. The last source listed is from a ".gov" website and seems to be the only credible source.

Over-representation

[edit]

Not a lot of information is given in this article other than the physical description of the fish. There are many topics you could write about that this article already has headings for, just little to no information under them. It would be really easy to just add more information under the already made headings, so that not all the information was under the heading "Description".

Summary

[edit]

Overall, this article is underwhelming and not very good. I don't know if I could even call it "okay". There is little to no information about warty frogfish on this article. The information that is given is not backed up by a reliable source, so for all we know it could be false. And the little information this article has is all about the physical description of warty frogfish, nothing else. I think this page could do with a good makeover, with more information backed up by reliable sources.
