I am from the rural Derbyshire town of Matlock, just outside the beautiful Peak District National Park. Most of my activity on the wiki these days revolves around uploading pictures of the nearby countryside - you can view some favourites, or access a full list here.

I started editing the English Wikipedia in 2006. Once upon a time, I used to try my hand at a bit of everything, becoming especially involved in the outlines project. However, I have been significantly less active than I would have liked since I started studying Geology at the University of Leicester, 3 years ago. These days, aside from my uploads, I mainly just hang around a few select pages in my watchlist that I've been helping with for years.

I'm also a (nowadays, somewhat inactive) bureaucrat on Wikia's Battlefield Wiki.

Original Barnstar.png The Original Barnstar
I award Highfields this barnstar for doing what needs to be done and actually getting it done! You said you created Outline of water because you saw that it needed to be done! Thanks for being responsible and just doing it! This is an ability that most people can't do easily (me definitely included). I admire you for that part. Also, I've been wanting to see that outline created for a while so thanks for making that happen! Good work! -  penubag  (talk) 08:37, 7 September 2009 (UTC)

Racewik2.png Capital naming race - 1st Place!
The winner of the Capital Naming Race sponsored by the Geography WikiProject is Highfields! He completed his list before his competitor even left the starting line! As the winner of the race, Highfields has been a great help in the development of Wikipedia's set of country outlines, an important portion of Wikipedia's Outline of knowledge that is currently under development and upon which the capital naming took place. Congratulations! The Transhumanist 03:20, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
