The Krayolas are a San Antonio-based band who started in 1975 and gained local popularity, becoming known as the "Tex-Mex Beatles." Their songs are a mixture of English and Spanish lyrics, with influences from rock and roll and Tex-Mex. They have collaborated with the West Side Horns, Ezra Charles, Rene & Rene, and Augie Meyers. They have been featured frequently on Little Steven's Underground Garage and Dave Marsh's radio shows.

Members[edit]

Hector Saldana: Lead vocals, rhythm guitar, harmonica. Hector is the chief songwriter and co-founder of The Krayolas. He wrote some of The Krayolas most popular songs "All I Do Is Try," "Aw Tonight," "Sometime," "Alamo Dragway," "Rhymes of Tomorrow" and "I Just Wanna Be With You (All the Time)" when he was 17-years-old. The "K" in Krayolas comes from his favorite group, The Kinks.
David Saldana: Vocals, drums, percussion, keyboards. David is lead singer and co-writer of hits such as "Sunny Day," "Happy Go Lucky" and "Catherine." He formed the band with his older brother Hector in 1975 and started playing nightclubs when he was 16-years-old.
Van Baines: Harmony and lead vocals, lead guitar, pedal steel guitar. He is no longer with the group.
Joe Sarli: Harmony vocals, bass. Joe hails from a musical family: his father Don headed the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo Band for nearly 50 years.
Barry Smith: Vocals, bass, organ.
