Jon B. Perdue ... Jon B. Perdue is an expert on terrorism and radical groups, with a focus on Latin America and Iran. He is the author of The War of All the People: The Nexus of Latin American Radicalism and Middle Eastern Terrorism, published in 2012 by Potomac Books. Perdue's book is an analysis of the threat posed by the collaboration between Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez and his allies in Latin America with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and the various proxy forces that serve to "export the Iranian revolution" to America's doorstep. The book analyzes the aspects of asymmetric warfare that are utilized by these regimes to incrementally subvert their own governments once they are elected, and then to export that subversion throughout the hemisphere.[1]

Academic Work

Perdue serves as the director of Latin America programs at the Fund for American Studies in Washington, D.C. In this capacity he travels extensively throughout Latin America, lecturing at universities and think tanks (in English and Spanish) and participating in conferences that bring together Latin America scholars and policymakers. His articles on Latin America and U.S. security issues have been widely published in Latin America and the United States.[2]

Perdue has been a frequent commentator on TV and radio, including NTN24, Voice of America, Secure Freedom Radio, and a number of Latin American stations. His articles have been published in newspapers, magazines and journals including Investors Business Daily, Miami Herald, Washington Times, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Journal of International Security Affairs, Fox News and a number of Spanish-language newspapers in Latin America.

Perdue is a graduate of the military academy North Georgia College and State University.
