The Farewell Killer was an American serial killer active in Detroit, Michigan, and surrounding communities, including Urban areas, from 2019 to 2021. Press reports during the height of public panic about the killings mentioned similar murders as early as 2018, but recent researchers have called these reports into question.The killer was never identified, and the murders remain unsolved. He mainly targeted Young School Children and Family's.
Farewell Killer claimed to have killed 56 children, not only that but has been linked to several other cold cases. The Detroit Police Department (DPD) marked the case "inactive" in the end of 2019 but re-opened the case in February 2020 the killer originated his name from the remains of his victims.
Earl Minkus
[edit]Investigators, listed Earl Minkus as one of their potential suspect based on clear Evidence.
Minkus had been interviewed by the police from the early days of the Farewell murders and was a subject of several detectives look further into. In 2020, Cheryl author of the Farewell Killer: Strikes Back! claims that detectives described Minkus as the most likely suspect. Frank Marble stated all evidence against Minkus turned out to be a Rumor. Mary fiancee of Minkus claimed that she'd always thought of Minkus being the killer but had not enough evidence to show the claim. John Phillip actor of Earl Minkus in the upcoming (2023) film Farewell commented "This Is A Fake, And Should Not Be Appropriate To Spread Rumors" he also commented "Treat Others The Way You'd Want To Be Treated"
Public Speculation
[edit]- Larry Gene Bell Bell not only was a suspect of the Farewell murders but he attempted to murder a 14 year old girl by forcing her to write a farewell note describing clear Evidence that he's the killer.
- The Bad Batch: following the capture of Weston Jones planned murder he was accused of using his members to murder other people for him which could maybe describe him as farewell.

[edit]October 24, 2021: After, 13 years of researching DNA test results will come in next week untill then investigators hope to get accurate results each suspect will also get DNA tested such as Larry Gene Bell, Earl Minkus, & Weston Jones if none are accurate police will go out hunting for new possible suspects.
21st century developments
[edit]In The End Of 2019, the DPD marked the case "inactive", citing caseload pressure and resource demands, effectively closing the case. However sometime in February 2020 the case was "reopened" the case is open in Michigan. and in the city of Detroit.
In October 2021, the Detroit Police Department announced their attempt to track the Farewell Killers DNA From knife fingerprint marks. The analysis, claimed results would come in At least estimated to Next Week Or Next Month. It was hoped the Farewell Killer would be caught the same way that the "Golden State Killer" Joseph James DeAngelo was captured down.
