The brand is a portmanteau combining the preposition form of the word “over”, meaning above or at a higher level; and the abbreviated form of the noun “specifications”, which refers to a standard of workmanship that is required to be met in a piece of work. This portmanteau has verbified the vision of the brand that when something is “Overspec’d”, one can be assured of quality products and services above the required standard.

BACKGROUND & HISTORY

Overspec’d Inc., is a Filipino manufacturer of automotive and motorcycle accessories and lifestyle brand established in 2020. The company is geared towards designing, creating, and distributing quality parts and accessories that cater to every aspect of car and motorcycle ownership.

As a brand, Overspec’d takes pride in being able to provide its products through extensive

research and product development, partnered with the use of modern technology and

manufacturing techniques.

Overspec’d began as an idea of like-minded individuals during the early stages of the

pandemic in the year 2020. Starting out as a small enterprise operating out of a home

garage, the brand quickly grew into a full-fledged corporation in February 2021.

Since then, the business expanded into owning and operating from its own office and

warehouse in Parañaque City, and has also been able to enter the sphere of e-commerce

with the opening of its Lazmall and Shopee online stores, allowing the brand to cater to a

wider range of customers.

The company has also been granted Trademarks for its brand and slogan, as well as Utility

Models under International Intellectual Property Laws for its flagship products, namely the

Automotive Plate Protector, Universal Plate Protector, and Motorcycle Plate Protectors.

To date, the brand continues to advocate its belief in the world-class quality of Filipino

products and manufacturing. Overspec’d has since been present in automotive and

motorcycle events being hosted by established members of the car and motorcycle

community, such as Makina Motorcycles, Buzzhype, StreetCustomsPh, StancePilipinas,

and many more.

ADVOCACY

“FILIPINO STRONG”

The core advocacy of the brand is the team’s belief in the high quality of Filipino-made

products, and Filipino resilience and strength. This belief is embodied in the company’s

overall slogan of “Filipino Strong” and is the team’s primary motivation from developing

new products to collaborating with other start-ups and stakeholders in the industry.

LEGAL COVERAGE AND TRADEMARKS COMPLIANCE WITH PHILIPPINE LAWS

As part of the brand’s early stages, it was important for the team that the company’s

products be roadworthy or legal to be used on Philippine roads. It was for this purpose that

the team was able to secure a favorable opinion from both the Land Transportation Office

(LTO) and the Department of Transportation (DOTr), ensuring that the company’s Plate

Protectors are legal and compliant with existing Philippine law.

TRADEMARKS & OTHER INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

To ensure its ownership over its products and its intellectual property, the company has

successfully registered its trademarks over its brand name, “Overspec’d”, and its core

advocacy “Filipino Strong”.

Further, Overspec’d has secured Utility Models with the Intellectual Property Office of the

Philippines, over its Stainless Steel Plate Protectors for Cars, SUVs, Trucks, and

Motorcycles. This allows the company to be the exclusive manufacturer and seller of these

products for a period of seven (7) years.

community, to keep abreast with the latest trends, and to do its part in uplifting the

It is for this purpose that the company maintains a presence with the local car and

motorcycle community, and supports the events of various groups and individuals

#OCTOVERSPEC’D

As a way of giving back to the valued support the company has received, Overspec’d

holds an annual gathering of close friends, family, dealers, and clients for a two day

celebration of our founding anniversary dubbed "#OCTOVERSPEC'D"

Held every October, the event is an opportunity to celebrate both the company’s

success and those of the car and motorcycle community who have been a part of the

company’s growth. In addition, the company also aims to give back and engage the

services of small local businesses such as food and drink concessionaires to cater the

said event.

PRODUCTS

Automotive Plate Protector

STAINLESS STEEL PLATE PROTECTORS

The Company’s flagship line of Stainless-Steel Registration Plate Protectors for cars,

SUVs, and Motorcycles. These are made from 1mm thick #304 Japan Grade Stainless

Steel. These protect a vehicle's registration plates from bending, warping, or

breaking, while at the same time remaining compliant with current legislation and

standards.

Additionally, these protectors are available in a variety of colors, finishes, and with

laser etching of the serial number, branding, and the Philippine Archipelago, as the

brand’s way of showcasing pride in being Filipino. All orders also come with a

complementary set of stainless steel Allen bolts and washers to aid in installation and

provides additional protection from theft.

AUTOMOTIVE PLATE PROTECTOR (APP)

These protectors are precision cut to the necessary size for all vehicles with standard

plate mounts in the front and rear.

UNIVERSAL PLATE PROTECTOR (UPP)

The team developed the Universal Plate Protector to address issues encountered by

car owners whose registration plates are "center-mounted" at the rear. Some models

encountering this issue include the Ford Everest, most BMWs, Audis, and

Volkswagens. These plates are made from the same grade stainless steel with the

added feature of being pressed with a center trench with laser cut holes to

accommodate the different mounting points on the vehicle.

The end result is a Plate Frame that also acts as a holder so as to eliminate the need

to drill holes on a vehicle's registration plates, or its front bumper or trunk lid.

MOTORCYCLE PLATE PROTECTOR (MPP)

Overspec'd Motorcycle Plate Protectors come in three different variants, depending

on the year your registration plate was issued. These Plate Protectors are also

available in the same powder-coated finishes as their automotive counterparts.

STEERING WHEEL COVERS (SWC)

In today's "new normal", the need to constantly sanitize means that a vehicle's

steering wheel sees more abuse than ever before, particularly with regard to the use

of alcohol and other sanitation liquids and solutions.

This is why Overspec'd Silicone Steering Wheel Protectors are essential to protect a

vehicle's steering wheel from scratches, corrosion, tearing, and other kinds of

damage from daily use. These are made from high quality silicone and are sized to

fit 33cm to 39cm steering wheels to allow a wide range of applications. Further, the

material and design allow for maximum grip with minimum footprint so as to not

compromise steering feel and control.

These protectors also come in a variety of textures, namely LITCHI, TIRE TREAD,

and HONEYCOMB. Each box of Overspec'd S W ' s contain Two (2) pieces of

protectors with a n expected functional life span of one (1) year with regular/daily

use.

BMW R9T & GS1250 PLATE ADAPTERS

After hearing requests for adapters for motorcycle plate protectors from the team’s

friends and customers who own BMW R9Ts and GS1250s, it was determined that the

mounting points on the R9T and GS 1250 are of a unique pattern that results in their

difficulty when installing their LTO registration plates. Not only that, there were

also numerous reports of GS motorcycles burning their registration plates due to the

size of Philippine plates overlapping with the exhaust!

After an extensive R&D process, the company was able to manufacture a plate

adapter that would be compatible with both the stock mounting points on the bike

as well as the mounting holes on the plate protectors. The end result being that the

registration plates of the R9T and the GS are now more secure and protected

(especially from burning).

CHIN GUARD

The Overspec'd Chin Guard was developed to help car enthusiasts protect their

expensive carbon fiber splitters or even the basic underside of their front bumpers

from scrapes and gutter marks.

Each order of the Overspec'd Chin Guard contains an instruction manual, an

application kit with alcohol pads, and six (6) pieces of the Chin Guard which can be

cut to conform to the shape of the user's lip, splitter, or bumper.

WATER BOTTLES

The company believes that being "Overspec'd" can be applied in more ways than one

and in every aspect of our lives.

As part of the company’s effort to introduce this philosophy outside the automotive

sphere, the team developed the Overspec’d Water Bottle. Made from food grade #304

Stainless Steel, these water bottles feature a double walled construction and were

extensively tested and proven to keep drinks cold for twenty-four (24) hours, and

hot for twelve (12) hours.

These travel companions come in two (2) sizes of 1,000mL and 750mL, and in four (4)

colors. Each order of an Overspec'd Water Bottle comes with a free silicone boot and

an extra lid with spout and straw to allow for versatile use.

APPAREL

Originally conceptualized and developed in collaboration with Dri+ and Fabrica

MNL, and initially released for friends and family, due to popular request the team is

now also releasing Overspec’d Team Shirts and Baseball Caps to their beloved

patrons and supporters.
