ICS 43 - ROAD VEHICLE ENGINEERING - is the first general level in the International Classification for Standards[1] that describes the necessary rules and norms to successfully model road vehicle systems, use and adjust them according to the international regulatory policy. It is applicable to the businesses that operate in the field where such a type of technology is used.

Areas of Application[edit]

In modern society, the application of standards provides transparency and compatibility of the results of work at individual stages of development of a product or service, and their route to the user. ICS "43 - Road vehicle engineering" standards can be applicable to the businesses that operate in the field of vehicle engineering, use of these technologies, or are connected with their production.

General Structure[edit]

Every ICS level has root levels that describe different types of the industry more precisely. As far as a significant amount of technologies is occurring every day, standards are separated in subdivisions.

Sublevels of the ICS can represent one of or the combination of:

  • General norms for the industry.
  • Technological aspects of use and implementing.
  • Types of vehicles.
  • Test methods and corresponding equipment.
