Hot Hands: A Tribute to Throwing Muses & Kristin Hersh is a 2003 tribute to the songs of Kristin Hersh and her band Throwing Muses.[1] The 18-track album includes five songs from Hersh’s solo career, 12 songs Hersh wrote for Throwing Muses, and one Throwing Muses song written by Tanya Donelly. The album’s untitled final track is a highly abstract cover of the song “Garoux Des Larmes“, and when the album was released the label held a contest for listeners to guess what the original track was.[2]

The album contains cover versions in a wide range of styles performed by bands and musicians from the US, Canada, England, and Spain, and it was mastered by Chris Xefos.[3] It was released to generally favorable reviews[4][5][6] and received college radio airplay on stations including KZSU and KALX.[7][8]
