The Queensland Steam Shipping vesse "Polly" was built in British Columbia in 1879. It ws one of many ships to carry mail to the Johnstone River Post Office after it was opened on the 1Cite error: There are <ref> tags on this page without content in them (see the help page).st of November 1882.[1]. Mail boat day was an exciting day and everyone tried to be present to recieve mail and then have a reply ready to leave with the tide.[2]
