An Obstacle Race is a race in which participants are forced to navigate physical (and sometimes mental challenges) as they traverse a course.
An obstacle race should be noted for being a timed event with rankings and winners, as to opposed to an obstacle course or obstacle event where participants seek only to complete the course. The object of an obstacle race is to finish the race as fast as possible.
Obstacle Racing takes many cues from military style obstacle courses. An example of a obstacle race is Spartan Race.
