About Me[edit]

I am currently studying BSc Web Design and Development at University of Hull, Scarborough Campus, with expected graduation date July 2014. I am 21 years old and I am originally from Craiova, Romania. Web design and web development have been my passion for approximately 5 years now. During this time I have worked on various freelance projects, collaborated with companies for project-based work and had a 3 and a half months long internship at IT Six Global Services, a sowftware outsourcing company from Craiova, Romania. This page has been created for the Psychology of Internet Behaviour module. For the first assignment of this module, me and my group will research the Expectancy violations theory. I will do research about Common expectancy violations in nonverbal communications and Criticism of the theory.

I have an online web design portfolio on Behance, for those interested in seeing my work.

University work[edit]

Being in my final year now, I am writing my dissertation, and its topic is: "The influence of social media upon relationships between people". My project supervisor is Darren Stephens, and he has recommended me to read books written by Sherry Turkle (Alone Together: why we expect more from technology and less from each other, 2011) or Jaron Lanier (You are not a gadget, 2011. Who owns the future?, 2013), in order to find out more useful information for my dissertation.

Other interests[edit]

I am interested in having a healthy lifestyle, and I have been practicing sports for a very long time. I have played tennis for 8 years, basketball for 3 years, and I am currently a flyer in the University's cheerleading squad: Scarborough Sharks. Apart from this, I am used with excercising regularly.

I am also interested in fashion and make-up, and if I wouldn't have been a web designer or developer, I would have probably had a job in these areas.
