[edit]Yamakoshi (山古志) is an area of Nagaoka City, part of Niigata_Prefecture, Japan. The former municipality Yamakoshi Village was merged into Nagaoka on April 1, 2005.
Geography
[edit]Yamakoshi is surrounded by mountains, and is formed from strong sloping ground, mainly at 150 m to 450 m altitude.[1] There are few flat field, hence the fields are often used for agricultural terrace , separated ponds for breeding ornamental koi.[2]
