Shopping Center in Ambon (Ambon City Center & Ambon Plaza) Ambon Island is located in the Maluku Province in the territory of East Indonesia. The island is split into Kotamadya Ambon (Ambon City) and provincial territory of Maluku Tengah. The island has a population of about 600,000 with about 400,000 visitors from the outer Maluku islands coming in annually.^[1]

There are only 2 shopping centers in Ambon Island: Ambon Plaza and Ambon City Center. Ambon Plaza is a 20 years old trade center, which consists of small kiosks and a Matahari Department store as its anchor tenant. Ambon City Center is a newly built shopping center (Est. Completion Date December 2011), which is anchored by brand new Matahari Department Store, Hypermart (1st in Maluku Province), Fun World (Largest Children's Entertainment in Maluku Province), Karisma Bookstore, and many other branded tenants such as Optik Melawai, Solaria, Es Teler 77, Sportstation, Payless Shoes, and others.
