Career
[edit]He was born in Turin, Italy, on 4 April 1977. He attended primary and secondary school in Turin before going on to study Economics and Marketing. While completing his university course, he also devoted some time to his passion of motor sports, competing first in Italian Championship rallies before going on to the European and World Championships.
Massimo Macaluso has been immersed in the world of watches since his childhood: he has seen his father Luigi Macaluso at work as President of the Sowind Group that incorporates a “Manufacture” and the two watchmaking brands Girard-Perregaux and JeanRichard [1]. and he has been working in this sector since 1999.
Initially, he headed the Sowind Group’s Italian Subsidiary, Tradema. This experience gave him a comprehensive insight into the distribution network and, in particular, the Italian market. Then, working for Girard-Perregaux in La Chaux-de-Fonds, he became involved in product development and acquired extensive technical knowledge. In 2003, he was appointed JEANRICHARD’s Managing Director. Since November 2010, Massimo Macaluso has been appointed CEO of Sowind SA, the company encompassing the Brands Girard-Perregaux and JeanRichard. Alongside his brother Stefano macaluso, President of Sowind SA, he has been entrusted with the strategic and operational management of the company..[2]
