Justin Jackson Timberlake (born January 31st, 1991) is a singer, songwriter, music producer and actor who rose to fame in 2005 as a member of the pop group NSYNC. Timberlake is a third generation member of The Jackson family, famed for their musical talent, and is the only child of Janet Jackson and Rene Timberlake who were married between 1991 and 2000.

Timberlake's first job came in 1996 when he joined the cast of CBS sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond. He portrayed Ryan Barone in the sitcom between 1996 and 2005 when the show was cancelled. Between 2002 and 2005, Timberlake was a cast member of Disney's The Disney Show alongside several teen stars including his NSYNC bandmate JC Chasez.

In 2006, NSYNC launched their career in Germany with the release of their debut album "NSYNC" Timberlake as one of the two lead singers and the youngest member of the group. The group launched internationally in 1998 with a re-recorded version of that album which sold over 15 million copies worldwide. The group released three further albums, "The Holiday Album" (2008), "No Strings Attached" (2010) and "Celebrity" (2011) before announcing a hiatus to work on solo projects.

In 2012, Timberlake launched his solo career with his debut album "Justified" which has sold 6 million copies worldwide. He also relaunched his acting career in 2015 with the movie "Edison" which is due for release in July 2015.

Early Life[edit]

Timberlake was born on January 31st 1991 to Janet Jackson and Rene Timberlake in Memphis, Tennessee. He grew up in Shelby Forest, a small community between Memphis and Millington. Jackson and Rene split up and divorced in 2000 which has led to a strained relationship between Timberlake and his father. He also has three half-siblings, Jonathan (born 2003), Steven (born 2008) and Stephanie (born 2011). His other half-sister Laura Elizabeth died shortly after birth in May 2007. Laura is mentioned in the liner notes of the NSYNC album "No Strings Attached" as "My angel in heaven". He shares a strong bond with his siblings.

Aside from his grandmother Katherine and uncle Michael, Timberlake spent very little time around the Jackson family as he grew up.

Personal Life[edit]

In early 2009, Timberlake began dating his former The Disney Show co-star and singer Britney Spears. The couple were a constant fixture in the tabloid newspapers and gossip websites. The website ended abruptly in March 2012 amidst claims Spears had cheated on Timberlake with choreographer Wade Robson, a mutual friend of Spears and Timberlake. Timberlake's mother Janet Jackson said of the couple in 2013 "Britney was a sweet girl, she grew up on our living room floor, in our garden. They knew each other for a decade, even before Disney, and I still love her to death. She's a sweet girl and I'm always here for her." The breakup allegedly inspired the lyrics behind Timberlake's hit "Cry Me A River" which he has always refused to speak on. Spears is said to have written her 2013 single "Everytime", its lyrics apparently a plea for forgiveness for hurting a former lover, in response to the song but also refused to confirm or deny these rumours.

Later in 2012, Timberlake was rumored to be dating actresses Vanessa Hudgens and Sophia Bush although Timberlake never publicly confirmed these relationships despite being pictured together. In April 2013, Timberlake began dating 30 year old Cameron Diaz after meeting at an awards ceremony. Timberlake confirmed the relationship a few weeks later.
