Lukas Robert Hemmings (born July 16th 1996) is an Australian actor, singer and songwriter who is currently the lead singer of pop rock boyband 5 Seconds Of Summer. Hemmings began his career at the age of 2 when he joined the cast of Network Ten soap Neighbours. He portrayed the role of Scott Kennedy, the adopted son of Susan and Karl Kennedy. He remained on the show until July 2005 when he left. His character was killed in a car crash with his funeral airing on the show's 20th anniversary.
In August 2005, he joined Home and Away in the role of Jake Holden. He remained in the show until April 2013. He made his feature film debut in 2013's The Purge. He has since starred in the movies +1, After The Dark and Endless Love. In 2014, Hemmings revealed he wouldn't be taking new acting roles to focus on his music career.
In 2011, he joined 5 Seconds Of Summer and the group began uploading covers to YouTube. In 2012, they released two EPs through their own record label Hi or Hey Records before signing to Capitol Records in 2013. They released their self-titled debut album in 2014 which was a commercial success.
Between 2001 and 2014 Hemmings was nominated for 13 LOGIE Awards and has won 8. He has won Most Popular Actor five times (2002, 2005, 2006, 2010, 2013) and Most Popular Personality three times (2006, 2012, 2014).
