JAY BENITEZ or real name (Johanni Benitez) was (born in December 13th, 2005) is a Mexican American singer-songwriter and musician. He strives in the Regional Mexican (Latin) genre. Born in a small town in California located in the Bay Area (Pittsburg, California) Jay went through a heartbreak during his 7th and 8th grade year of middle school which he used as inspiration in some of his songs.

Jay started playing instruments and singing as early as 2nd grade with his music teacher at school. His first instruments were the recorder and flute. As he got into middle school, he chose band as his elective and learned how to play other woodwind instruments like Clarinet, Tenor Sax, Obo, and Soprano Sax. He also learned to play percussion and piano.

He taught himself how to play guitar by watching tutorials on YouTube. The first song Benitez learned was " Que Bonito Es Querer " By " Ulices Chaidez ". His inspirations in the Regional Mexicano industry is Ariel Camacho, Tony Loya, Vicente Fernandez, and Fuerza Regida. Other idols from different musical genres of his are Anuel AA, Santa Fe Klan, Cartel De Santa, Romeo Santos, and Morgan Wallen.

Career & Pathway

Benitez’s Debut single Solo y Triste featuring (Group Nueva Sensacion) released on September 8th, 2022 was actually not his first song he wrote. The first song he ever wrote was actually " Historias De La Vida " which he initially was planned to released first but later released it almost a month after his debut single on September 30th, 2022. His debut song pulled 60,000 total views. His next song got 90,000 total views. Jay Currently has 16,500 followers on Instagram.

Some of his other singles like " Esta Roto " got 80,000 views in total, and his other single " No Soy Feliz " got 40,000. But his most impressive song so far is " Tal Vez No " which got some recognition and was reacting to by different creators. One notable one was " El Mero Chuy " on TikTok. That single went on to get 30,000 total views in a week. Currently has 120,000 total views. All his songs so far have been Regional Mexican Singles. Jay has yet to of released an album. Recently, teased his "LIBERADO" album to release sometime in early 2024. His songs are engineered and produced by (@Luccimixedit) and (Randy Galarza), his bassist is (Yung Branch).
