Marcus Persson (* 19 Dec[1]Cite error: The <ref> tag has too many names (see the help page). 1978[2]), also known under the pseudonym Perrra, is a music composer, producer, and songwriter from Skara, Sweden. He has been involved with music since at least 1989, and pursues at a professional level since 2008[3]. He has produced all sorts of styles, ranging from Pop and Dance to ballads and Dansband, and many of his earlier songs are set ironic. In 2015, he started touring under the pseudonym Dansbandskungen; his band is known as Järnvingarna.

Music projects[edit]

His early songs deal with Internet culture, predominantly IRC and eliteness. Under those times, Marcus at the time went by the pseudonym "mircwar", which is also reflected in his songs when sending out greets.

AssHunter[edit]

With the release of Basshunter's 2006 song "Boten Anna", Perrra felt inclined to make a parody due to Basshunter's dialect and the phonetic proximity between the words "bot" and "båt". This spawned the Asshunter name and a number of songs, most notably "Båten Anna"/"Det heter faktiskt BOT" and "Vi har problem".

Basshunter's follow-up song "Vi sitter här i Ventrilo" similarly spawned parodies such as "Vi sitter här i vänten".

In Asshunter's 2007 song "Vi vill vara som du", Basshunter is requested to release new songs, for the purpose of Perrra's parodying efforts, most likely related to further Basshunter songs not receiving the same fame as the previous two. A subsequent Asshunter parody takes it up with Kobojsarna's "Jag vet du vill ha mig" instead, resulting in "Alla vill ha mig".

CM Music[edit]

With the uptake of his professional music-making activity, Marcus has created his own production company, CM Music.

Marcus has written songtexts, but most prominently has been a producer for numerous well-known bands (in Sweden) and artists such as CC&LEE, ZEKES, Drifters, Donnez, Streaplers and Martinez. The Norwegian artist Frøya, for which Marcus has contributed to the song "Vil du vite", went gold with her album "My American Dream"[4][5].

Private life[edit]

In a 2006 file dump[6], Persson revealed that he has two kids, with his then-significant other, Therese. Sometime later, he is liaised with Rebecca Hallberger[7][8][9] whom he married in 2014[5]. As of 2020, the family has three kids, Thelma (*2003[10]), who also participated as a singer in Perrra's christmas songs, Timon (*2006-03-06[11]), and Melker (*2012-04-26). The family is keeping pets.[12]
