Wilfredo Lam ... Wilfredo Lam y Castilla was born in Cuba. He was a cuban artist who wanted to revive the enduring Afro-Cuban spirit and culture. He moved to Havana to study law and he also began studyin tropical plants in the Botanical Gardens. His paintings were influenced by the Afro-Cubans of his time.
