Karlin + Pimsler is an advertising creative boutique that specializes in direct response TV commercials (DRTV). It is famous for developing transformational advertising which has been defined as creating brand dominance in a category while simultaneously generating profitable, and measurable results.


History

Karlin+Pimsler was started in 1995 by Mal Karlin and Steve Pimsler, two award winning creative directors with extensive experience in the worlds of general advertising and direct marketing.

Together they have combined experience in such companies as Bates, DMB&B, Draft Worldwide, Grey, Harte-Hanks, JWT, Lowe Worldwide, Ogilvy & Mather, Wunderman and Y&R, and have worked on clients such as HBO, Xerox, AT&T, Cablevision, Cigna, Sony, and United Health Care.

They formed K+P when they won the British Airways below-the-line creative account for North America. Since then they have created successful DRTV campaigns in the category of financial services, travel, pharmaceutical, nutraceuticals, all areas of insurance including Medicare, entertainment and telecommunications.

Notable Campaigns

One of K+P's most recent success stories is the JG Wentworth "Opera" commercial. In 2008 K+P created and produced the commercial which brought JGW a 50% more call volume with a 25% less media spend. The "Opera" commercial is considered true break-through marketing and has been highlighted in various sources including Response Magazine [1] and DMNews [2]. The spot has also earned the agency numerous awards including a Davey Award and 2 international Summit Awards.
