Oze was born and still lives Toronto Canada.

In January 2017 was part of a 12 member team which successfully summited Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, the tallest peak on the African continent and the highest free-standing mountain in the world.

Oze is a strong advocate of philanthropic initiatives, including sponsoring a child in Peru for several years with World Vision and sitting on the Board of East York Meals on Wheels for 3 years. He has also for over 10 years been a regular volunteer at the Scott Mission, a street mission in downtown Toronto serving the poor and needy.

A committed athlete, Oze completed his first marathon in 2015 and is now training for the Ottawa half-marathon in May 2017. Oze also plays ice-hockey as a goaltender year-round.
