Urukunnu Kurisumala (Mount Holy Cross, Urukunnu) is a pilgrim center. This holy place is situated at Urukunnu near by Railway Station Ottakkal in Kollam district in the South Indian state of Kerala. Urukunnu Kurisumala is a Spiritual destination center for Christians. Here many people from Kerala and Tamil Nadu come to venerate the Holy Cross. This place is at an elevation of 1500 ft. There is an ascent of 328 steps to reach on the top of mount. Here people gather to commemorate the passion and Death of Lord Jesus Christ on the Cross during the Lenten season especially on Good Friday. The 14 stations of ‘the Way of the Cross has been clearly marked as we climb the steps of the Mountain. It is two and half kilometer away from the Holy cross church. On Every Good Friday, there is a Way of Cross beginning from the Holly Cross Church, at 7 am and ends at the top of the Holy Cross Mount.
