Re'Shaun Frear grew up in West Hills, California and graduated from Chamande University of Honolulu in Hawaii, where he majored in Speech Communication. Frear is a Veteran of Desert Storm and served in the U.S. Army.

In 1995, he returned back to Los Angeles and began his entertainment career with The Walt Disney Company, specializing in licensing and accounting. Soon thereafter and showing great capabilities, he joined the consumer products department/Latin American Division of Warner Brothers Studios in 1999. Eager to learn more and increase his skills, Frear continued his climb up the entertainment ladder and transferred to the WB Network as a television analyst and progressed to the Television and Film department of Gotham Entertainment, known for features films such as Martin Lawrence's "RUN TEL DAT," "YOU SO CRAZY," "A THIN LINE BETWEEN LOVE AND HATE," and Jada Pinkett Smith's "WOO”. During his tenure there, he worked on several projects including, "SPIRITUAL WARRIORS" and shortly thereafter he partnered with the owners of Gotham Entertainment and David Raynr to form Bright Idea Entertainment.

Re’Shaun produced the critically acclaimed film "DIRTY LAUNDRY" with Loretta Devine and Rockmond Dunbar. Dirty Laundry went on to receive the Blockbuster Audience Award for best U.S. Feature from American Black Film Festival in 2006 and was nominated for Best Independent Film by the NAACP Image Awards and the GLAAD Awards in 2007.

In 2008, Re'Shaun produced Black Entertainment Television's #1 show, "BLACK POKER STARS" (2008), starring Katt Williams and Anthony Anderson. In the same year, he produced the feature film, "PASTOR BROWN"; starring Salli Richardson, Tasha Smith, Nicole Ari Parker, and Rockmond Dunbar, which debuted as the Centerpiece film at the notable American Black Film Festival, June 2009. Recently, Re'Shaun formed Indywood Entertainment. Indywood Films is a film/ television production company with the mission to create and produce uplifting inspiring, commercially successful entertainment projects. Re'Shaun's current film projects include, “Christmas in Compton" starring: Eric Roberts, Keith David, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and Omar Gooding.
