Evaluna Mercedes Reglero Rodríguez (born August 7, 1997), known as Evaluna Montaner, is a Venezuelan actress and singer. She is the daughter of singer Ricardo Montaner and filmmaker Marlene Rodriguez, and younger sister to Mauricio and Ricardo Montaner, better known as Mau & Ricky.

Biography[edit]

Evaluna was born in Caracas, Venezuela. At the age of 4, her family moved to Miami, Florida, United States. Her acting debut was at the age of 4 in the music video for Si tuviera que elegir, an original song by her father Ricardo Montaner. From a young age, she learnt piano, harp and various types of dance.

She made her singing debut in 2009, singing Only Hope by Switchfoot on the Argentinian talk show Susana Giménez. [1]

In 2013 she moved with her family to Bogotá, Colombia, where they stayed for 2 years.

In 2014 she moved with her family, during the filming of Hot Pursuit, to Los Angeles, California and she lived between Miami, Colombia and Los Angeles during 2014-15.

In April 2015, the actress confirmed her relationship with Columbian singer Camilo Echeverry. The couple got engaged in August 2018. [2] The same year, she appeared in Echeverry's music videos for No te vayas and Tutu.

In 2019 she starred in the the Nickelodeon show Club 57.

Career[edit]

2011-12: Grachi[edit]

Evaluna got her first minor role in the Nickelodeon (Latin America) series Grachi, playing Melanie Esquivel, the sister of the main character Daniel Esquivel. The show was later adapted as Every Witch Way for English audiences.

2012: La gloria de Dios[edit]

In 2012, her father Ricardo Montaner had her duet with him in the Christian balad La gloria de Dios. He later took her on tour for his Viajero Frecuente Tour, which boosted her career as a singer.

The song debuted in Argentina during a tribute program for Ricardo Montaner on the talk show Gracias por venir, gracias por estar. [3]

2013: Si existe[edit]

She released her first single, Si existe, in December 2013 with the help of her mother, Marlene Rodríguez.[4]

2014-present: Hot Pursuit and Wings[edit]

She played a minor role as Teresa Cortez alongside Reese Witherspoon and Sofía Vergara in the movie Hot Pursuit.

In July 2014, Evaluna took part in the Christian festival in Argentina Jesús Fest where she debuted her single, Yo me salvé, which would be released at the end of 2014 which an English version titled Wings.

After a hiatus from music of 4 years, she released two new singles, Por tu amor and Me liberé, in 2018.

In 2019, she starred as the protagonist in Nickelodeon show Club 57, about a girl and her brother Rubén (Sebastian Silva) who get stuck in 1957.[5]
