Dato' Dr Low Bin Tick OBE is currently Commander-in-chief of St Johns Ambulance Malaysia and President of the British Graduates Association of Malaysia. He is a consultant skin specialist and genito-urinary physician practising in Kuala Lumpur.

St Johns Ambulance[edit]

Low has served with St Johns Ambulance since 1968, becoming Commander-in-chief in 1994. He initiated the 24-hour emergency ambulance service on the highways during the Hari Raya and Chinese New Year festivals since 1995. At the same time he initiated the Emergency Medical Assistance Service (EMAS) in the major cities in Malaysia[1]. In 2008, Low led the organisation's centenary celebrations at the Dataran Merdeka in Kuala Lumpur[2]. The organisation also established twenty haemodialysis services throughout the country and also an academy of pre-hospital care and is currently running a paramedic diploma course with the Open University of Malaysia.

Achievements and Appointments[edit]

1998: Low was awarded an OBE by Queen Elizabeth II in recognition of his community services throughout his career.

2001-5: Low was President of Chin Woo Athletic Association of Selangor and Kuala Lumpur.

2010: Low was made a Justice of Peace (JP) by His Royal Highness Sultan of Selangor[3].
