Do you know any peace settlements signed to end war? That's what the Treaty of Versailles was. This was a peace settlement signed on June 28, 1919 to end World War One. The Treaty of Versailles was signed at the Versailles Palace near Paris. The treaty was signed between Germany and allies. ^[1] The United States was going to sign it, but then didn't agree with some of the beliefs. For example they didn't believe in the high price Germany had to pay for the role as aggressor. This could be a cause of the Great War, because the United States and Germany didn't agree on beliefs. The Treaty of Versailles involved hundreds of people and helped end a huge war.^[2]
