My name is Karen Shank and I am a graduate student in Museum Studies at Indiana University Purdue University at Indianapolis in Indianapolis, Indiana. I am part of a Collections Care and Management classFall 2009 IUPUI Museum Studies Course MSTD-A416/A516 where we are creating our own comprehensive collection of outdoor public sculpture found on the IUPUI campus. Our project is called Wikipedia Saves Public Art! Our inspiration came from the Smithsonian's SOS! Program.(Smithsonian Institution Research Information System (SIRIS)), come visit us!

In addition I also volunteer for the Indiana State Department of Natural Resources working for the Cemetery Registry Survey and myself along with a small team is responsible for reporting on the current locations and conditions of all cemeteries in Wayne County, Indiana and Shelby County Indiana.

These projects coincide with one another as both are concerned with the conservation and care of these sites via collaboration, documentation, and detailed condition reports. Below is the template we plan to use to create a uniform database of Public Art on the IUPUI Campus. I will be writing articles on Jammin' on the Avenue and Untitled (Jazz Musicians) by, John Spaulding. Be sure to visit them often when I am finished!
