Rudy Boy is the name of a young corpse found in the peat bogs in April 2009. Rudy was discovered in County Meath, Ireland, the home of another bog body known as Clonycavan Man. He has been calculated to have been approximately 1.22 meters (4 ft) in height, and is remarkable for the age at which he seems to have died. Rudy Boy is one of the youngest peat bodies found in Europe. The boy may have suffered from an infected socket at the top of his femur, with the result that he wouldn't have been able to walk without assistance. Because of the high incidence of deformities among bog bodies, such as the Yde Girl, anthropologists have suggested that the disabled were sacrificed because they were considered unfavored by the gods.[1]
