Loklak is a distributed microblog-message (e.g. Tweet) search server. The Loklak server scrapes tweets and creates an Elasticsearch index from them. It also provides an peer-to-peer index sharing interface and an API to access them. The Loklak webclient is used as front-end. Kibana can be used as external search portal, too.[2]
Etymology
[edit]The application name comes from a traditional Cambodian cuisine, "Lok Lak", consisting of roasted meat (beef usually) and long pepper.[3]
Features
[edit]Loklak allows to:
- collect and save a huge amount of messages and tweets
- let users create their own search engine for tweets
- enable the user to omit authentication when requesting Twitter API
- share messages and archives with other users
