Katia D. Ulysse is a Haitian born author, and founder of the Blog VoicesfromHaiti. Ulysse’s written work focuses on Haitian heritage and identity.

Ulysse’s written work has appeared in numerous international publications including, but not limited to The Caribbean Writer, Meridians: feminism, race, transnationalism, The African Calabash Magazine, Peregrine Magazine, and Smartish Pace. Ulysse holds a Masters in Education from the College of Notre Dame. Growing up in Haiti Katia Ulysse moved to the United States as a teenager, and spent six months as an ESL student. Knowing that they can be taken advantage of, she decided to taught ESL in Baltimore city for ten years. In 2013 Katia wrote the children book Fabiola Can Count, one year later she wrote her first fiction novel, Drifting, a collection of short stories about Haiti. Ulysse currently lives in Maryland with her husband and daughter.^[1]^[2]
