The (mostly) true facts about me[edit]

LJG81292 is the user name for me, Logan Grodi. I am currently a freshman student at Georgia Southern University. Georgia Southern university is a moderate sized party school, or so I hear. I am pursuing a major in an IT related field. This is leading me to try and become a VCP (Vmware certified professional). In high school I played soccer for three years, and was on the swimming team for one year. I was also involved in the local thespian troupe which I became a member my Freshman Year. Reading is one of my favorite activities. I tend to read the most random of books. This includes anything from "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" to a book on theoretical physics. I have have dark brown eyes and brown, moderately long, hair. I honestly feel that I live a rather boring life. I do wish that it could be a bit more interesting sometimes. Religiously speaking, I agree with some viewpoints from all different kinds of religions. I was raised in a Catholic church but can not quite call myself anything at this point.

My efforts here.[edit]

I have made about 10 or so minor edits on various articles throughout Wikipedia. The only Major contribution I have made is the elongation of the stub article "Friendly Robotics". I have wrote on the Friendly robotics discussion page as well. I stated my thoughts on the work I had done, and what could be done to improve the quality of the article. Since submitting my first draft of the article I have done more research about friendly robotics. The Article can be found here! This is my final draft of the Article for sometime. Although I do plan to try and Update it as more stuff happens with Friendly Robotics. The problem though, is that Friendly robotics hasn't had any kind of news attention in years. I also have participated in the discussion on my article, along with the discussion of the Team StarKid article.

Technology is a wonderful thing[edit]

Technology is something that has been around me all of my life. While I have only just started an Intro to IT class, one could say I am at least above average at using computers. Setting up networks and using codes to design basic websites is not over my head. I also have basic knowledge of the internal components of computers. This is mainly due to the extreme exposure to computers that I have had over the past 10 years of my life. My personal philosophy is that technology should be used in a way to benefit all of society. I am against anything that has to do with viruses or cyber-bullying. For the most part, besides social networking, the best use of Technology is for entertaining one's self. For me this mostly includes watching T.V. on hulu or playing video games on an Xbox 360 or my laptop. Recently I have become more aware of how the efficient use of technology is the business world can have a major impact on someone's life as well. This has come about through the use of VMware.

What is this magical place?[edit]

I have known of Wikipedia for several years. It is an enormous collection of data that very easily accessed.Wikipedia is able to answer just about any questions you may have about a subject. It is also one of the most misunderstood websites. When asking anyone why Wikipedia should not be used when doing a research paper, almost 100% of the time the reply received will only be based on what others have told them. The normal reply received is "Anyone can go and change things on Wikipedia so the information is false".The reason you should not be citing Wikipedia is because your not doing original research then. Instead you are just citing someone citing something else. I believe that, for someone who is new to editing on Wikipedia, the process of editing and writing articles is very difficult. The sheer amount of willpower and effort one must have to be successful on Wikipedia truly helps to stop the people that wish to ruin it for the rest of us. Upon realizing this I gained a new respect for Wikipedia and the people who edit it.

Your Average American[edit]

I speak and write English very fluently. Considering I was born in the United States, with parents who both spoke English primarily, this is not a surprise to me. I also took 3 years of Spanish classes in High school. However I do not believe I know enough to work with Spanish pages on Wikipedia. I attended public schools for the majority of my education. Around the first grade I attend a small private catholic school.

I once asked myself who I really truly was...[edit]

  • I am a freshman attending Georgia Southern University. While I am underclared, I do intend to major in IT.
  • I very much love computers, television, pizza, video games, My girlfriend, and table-top boardgames.
  • I also go airsofting on the weekends.
  • I absolutely hate heights
  • The entirety of my high school career I was told Wikipedia was a place I should never go
  • water + dish soap + methane + fire, is the best scientific endeavor I have ever accomplished

When I'm not doing any of the activities mentioned above, I am usually studying or doing homework. It is certainly not that I enjoy doing it though.
