Sunshine cafeteria is one of the eight mainfood service locations in the University of British Columbia, Okanagan Campus. Sunshine cafeteria is located in the second floor in the Administration Building, 1138 Alumni Ave, Kelowna, BC V1V 1V7. Sunshine is open for the public and it offers a variety of options, including vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free meals.
The Grill Station: which includes burgers, tacos, grilled cheese, chicken, poutine, and breakfast plates.
Pasta Station: custom pasta bowls.
Poke Station: custom poke bowls.
Burritos Station: custom burritos.
Salad bar: different options each day, including a mix of salads, vegetables, and more, with homemade dressings.
Grab&Go: sandwiches, salads, sushi, snacks and beverages.
Sunshine Cafe offers a huge range of meal options such as vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, meat lovers, and etc. Sunshine service responds to students' preferences and provides a balanced diet to all costumers. A variety of fresh and healthy food is in the priority of Sunshine cafe's workers. A balanced diet is key to students' achievements in learning, and UBCO food service creates such an environment. Sunshine cafe also contributes to students' non-academic life by providing a part-time job on campus to guarantee work experience for UBCO students. Students may also use their meal plans to pay. The cafe maintains the "Green2Go" service, which is an environmentally friendly movement. Students save 20 cents by using Green2Go containers. By adhering to the service, students demonstrate their involvement in helping the ecosystem. The cafeteria serves as well as a place for university events such as the new students' orientation program. Sunshine Cafe creates a friendly and healthy environment for all members of the university community.
Besides the "Green2Go" service, Sunshine cafeteria is committed to using only locally grown, fresh ingredients in their meal, as well as antibiotic and hormone-free meat and sustainable seafood. Furthermore, Sunshine prepares its meals from scratch, avoiding using processed ingredients.
