History

[edit]

In 2019, Acrew Capital was founded with a vision to combine the experience and perspectives of multiple generations of investors. Theresia Gouw, a seasoned venture capitalist with a strong background in technology investing, partnered with Lauren Kolodny, a distinguished figure in the venture capital space known for her advocacy of women-led enterprises and her keen eye for emerging trends.[3]

According to Theresia Gouw, the decision to co-found Acrew Capital with Lauren Kolodny stemmed from admiration for Lauren's bold investment strategies and her unwavering conviction in promising startups. Notably, Lauren Kolodny's pivotal role in leading a Series A investment in Chime, despite initial skepticism from other investors, underscored her foresight and commitment to identifying transformative opportunities.[4]

Acrew Capital places a significant emphasis on generational diversity within its team, recognizing the unique perspectives and insights that individuals from different age groups bring to the table.[5] By fostering a collaborative environment that includes Gen X-ers, Millennials, and Gen Z, Acrew Capital enhances its ability to identify and capitalize on groundbreaking innovations across the tech landscape.
