Kyle Bryan Boller (June 17, 1981) is a former National Football League QB. He had an eight-year career playing for three different teams; Ravens 2003-2008, Rams 2009, and Raiders 2010-2011. He was drafted with the 19th pick in the first round in the 2003 draft [1]

Early Years[edit]

Kyle Boller was born in Burnbank, California, on June 17, 1981. Kyle Boller played quarterback at William S. Hart in Santa Clara, CA. Kyle Boller was the California player of the year in 1998. Boller threw for 4,838 yards, which is the 63rd most for any high school and 59 touchdowns.[2]

College Career[edit]

Coming out of high school, Boller was compared to John Elway, who also went to high school in Southern California. Boller struggled to live up to expectations his first three years, winning only seven games and going 1-10 his Junior year. Boller, emboldened by new head coach Jeff Tedfrord had his best season. Tedford tailored the offense to Boller's strengths, and he threw 28 touchdowns and ten interceptions. Boller still had a low completion percentage of 53.4 percent, which led to scouts questioning his accuracy. Still, Boller's strong arm and athleticism led him to be one of the top prospects in the NFL draft.[3]

==Professional Career=&

The Baltimore Ravens drafted Kyle Boller in 2003. Boller started immediately and went 5-4 as a starter, throwing nine touchdowns and seven interceptions. Unfortunately, an injury cut his season short. In 2004 Boller led the Ravens to a 9-7 record and threw 13 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. In 2005 Boller struggled once again, and the Ravens went 6-10. Afterward, the Ravens traded for Steve McNair, and Kyle Boller was no longer the Ravens starting quarterback and was now the second-string quarterback. Kyle Boller didn't see consistent playing time until the 2007 season when McNair got hurt. Boller started in eight games and threw nine touchdowns and ten interceptions. Coming into the 2008, Kyle Boller was in a three-way quarterback battle against former Heisman trophy winner Troy Smith and the Raven's new first round pick Joe Flacco. In training camp, Kyle Boller injured his shoulder and was placed on injured reserve. In the 2009 season, Boller signed with the Rams, only starting four games, throwing three touchdowns and six interceptions. The following year Boller signed with the Raiders as a backup for two seasons, only playing sparingly. In 2012, Kyle Boller signed a deal with the Chargers but opted to retire instead, ending his football career.[4]

Personal Life[edit]

Boller is married to former Miss California Carrie Prejean, and they have two kids together.[5]
