Even Technologies has developed a proprietary video compression technology known as PSI_V. PSI_V uses Region Based Encoding to encode video in the same way that the mind interprets images. The algorithm identifies the most important part of the frame and allocates more of the file size to the regions that are most likely to be the focus of attention for the viewer. The technology's principal application is in the delivery of High-definition video over existing broadband networks for IPTV and internet video.

The PSI_V codec has been integrated into real time hardware encoders, set top boxes, video on demand software encoders and software decoders for the PC. On June 11, 2008, Even Technologies released a hardware video encoder for encoding high definition content at 3Mbps [5].
