Bautista Eduardo Güemes (12 May 1990, Buenos Aires) is an Argentine rugby player who has evolved in the fly-half position.

Biography[edit]

Bautista Güemes began playing at the Club Universitario de Buenos Aires (CUBA) at the age of 6. During the 2010 season, at the age of 19, he made his debut in the first team of his club, being the starting fly-half until the end of the 2014 season.


He played 79 matches and scored 885 points for the Buenos Aires club "Villa de Mayo" (CUBA) in URBA tournaments, and during Nacional de Clubs 2014 tournament, he played 7 of the 8 matches and scored 71 points.

In 2013, he won with CUBA the championship of the Rugby Union of Buenos Aires, called URBA Top14, a title that the club had not won for 43 years, being the 14th title for CUBA.

During the 2014 season with his club, he wins the highly coveted National Club Tournament, a tournament organized by the Argentine Rugby Union (UAR). This same year with his club CUBA he once again arrives at the final of the URBA Top 14 organized by the Rugby Union of Buenos Aires, losing the final match.


He has been chosen for the teams of 15 and Seven-a-Side by the Rugby Union of Buenos Aires (URBA) since 2011. With the Seven-a-Side team he wins the Club World Cup in August 2014, in Twichenham, London, England. Also with the Seven-a-Side URBA he wins for three consecutive years the Seven-a-Side Nacional de Paraná (2012-2013-2014), a tournament organized by the Argentine Rugby Union (UAR) for Provincial Rugby Unions.


It was in 2013 and 2014 that he was recruited to various national concentrations with the Jaguars Rugby League team. Bautista Güemes joins Benetton Rugby Treviso Team in February 2015, then he commits himself to Sporting Union Agen Lot-et-Garonne Team a few weeks later, where he plays for the following two seasons, until June of 2017.
