Camp Mountaineer Camp mountaineer, is a certified BSA boy scout camp located near Morgantown, WV, 4.5 miles South on 119 from the I-68 University Avenue ext. at 187 Camp mountaineer road. Camp mountaineer is a great camp for your boy scout troop or cub pack to attend. With over 14 campsites and pavilions, several cabins and conference rooms available in the Hott building (named after financial donor George D. Hott) available for rent for weekend outings, or corporate retreats. The camp features facilities such as the C.O.P.E. course, Strawn Lake, rifle archery and shotgun ranges, and miles of hiking/ mountain biking trails. Tour As you enter Camp mountaineer, you will see the ranger's cabin on the right followed immediately by a gate where, during the summer camp season, only camp vehicles are allowed to pass. Immediately following the gate, there is a split in the road with the right fork leading either down o the lake or looping back around past a Maintenance shed and meeting back up with the main road into camp, and the left fork simply continuing straight towards the first campsites.
