Rudi Bogaerts (Sint-Truiden, 1964) is a Belgian visual artist who lives and works in Ghent.
Biography[edit]
Bogaerts was raised in Sint-Truiden, a small town in Belgium. In 1984 he moved to Ghent to study at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts (Ghent). He studied painting in the class of Marc Maet, and later photography & film in the class of Carl De Keyzer. After graduating in 1990, he established himself as a photographer in Ghent. In 1991 he started the graphic agency Quod in Ghent together with Leen Depooter.
In 1999 he makes an in-situ project "The Wall Of Encounter" for the Parliament of the Brussels-Capital Region. This work gives a new direction to his work. A few years later, he stopped his commercial career as a photographer to develop himself as a visual artist.
