Israel intro

Please note that the intro posted in Talk was a temporary backup waiting for things to be added, as I invited. When looking on to countries with ancient pasts, such as Japan and Greece, a good part of history is devoted to it. I dont want the history of Israel to be so mixed up with the history of the Arab-Israeli conflict. I am working on editing an intro. Hello Telaviv1. Well, that's nice of you! But I'm afraid that to give details about myself would be a violation of WP:Fringe since I appear to many as a crashing pedantic bore! I would reply to your query, but I fear that in doing so, someone might edit out my remarks by noting that they do not come from a WP:Reliable Source! I will say this, that my father fought on the right side in WW2, and brought back vivid memories of Palestine, and I had a wonderful time in both Israel and contiguous areas for several months as a young man, everywhere from Gaza city to the Golan, from the Sinai to Jerusalem. The Israeli press is dominated by three newspapaers, the intellectual and left-leaning Haaretz, and two more populist papers, Yediot Ahronot (which claims about 70% of readership) and Maariv. A military censor exists with the right to prevent articles being published if they are certain that an article will damage national security. Journalists can protest to the high court. In practise the censorship is easily circumvented, though editors generally abide by its decisions.

Over two thirds of Israelis have access to the internet and, although newspaper readership remains high, there has been a decline in newspaper sales as many people have switiched to reading the news online.

In addition to the Hebrew press there are Arabic newspapers and a large Russian language press as well as newspapers in Yiddish, English and French.

Television was introduced to Israel in 1968, out of concern that the newly occupied Palestinian territories would recieve most of their news from neighbouring Arab states. The national TV station is funded by a license fee. In 1993 a second channel funded by advertising went live. There is also one cable service ( Hot) and one sattelite service ( Yes). Most Israelis subscribe to one of these services which relay a wide variety of programs including broadcasts from across the Arab world and Europe.

Latrun assaults

Hi,
I am looking the army compositions of the forces that assaulted (and defended) Latrun during the 6 assaults of 1948.
I have them for Bin Nun A but not for the others.
Would you have them (with referenes).
I guess, maybe wrongly that you have the book of David Tal about the War of 1948. I think it could be there...

I see no reason to doubt the figures given by Tal. He gives a period for his figures whle the figures you cite don't say to which period they refer. Perhaps you could check your sources to see where they get their figures from? that is what sources they cite? This might help see how reliable they are.

A lot of Palestinian fighters were peasants and I doubt that anyone really knows how many of them were involved, while Jewish forces were clearly growing all the time as they inducted people and immigrants arrived. i think it makes sense to inform the reader that these figures are not reliable and that different opinions exist.

POV pushing and edit warring

You have been making some inappropriate edits to a number of articles, and I have reverted them. Instead of acting in good faith by attempting to dialog and raise consensus on the talk page, you have instead engaged in edit warring by re-insterting the disputed content (at least at Anti-Zionism). I ask you now to please stop. It is more than fine to make bold edits, but if you get reverted, the right and proper thing to do is to go to the talk page and make your proposal there. It is never ok to re-insert your controversial content, if an editor in good faith has reverted you. Please take this under consideration in the future, and try to work with the community, instead of fighting and edit warring. Jews in Estonia (1918-1940) (1991-...)

Hello, could you help me finding materials about Jewish cultural autonomosy in Estonia before the Soviet and Nazi occupation? Im looking for the book or article about Jews honouring the Republic of Estonia in the terms of allowing on the state level and by the state order a cultural automoasy for the Estonian-Jews.
