ÖzgürKon is an international online free software event, organized by Özgür Yazılım Derneği, an association located in Turkey.[2][3][4][5] Main topics of the event are free software, Internet freedom, hardware freedom, diversity in digital cultures, privacy, and related topics.[6] The name of the event is a compound of two Turkish words; "özgür" (English: free) and "konferans" (English: conference).[7]

ÖzgürKon was initially organized to fill the physical event absence due to COVID-19 pandemic[1], nevertheless the organizers announced the event is planned to be held in person on following years.[8][6]
2020[edit]
ÖzgürKon 2020 was held on May 16-17, 2020 online, and the keynote speakers was Aral Balkan[9], Karen Sandler[10], Rosie Stephenson-Goodknight[11], Gregory Engels, Alexander Sander, John Lubbock. It had more than 2000 attendees worldwide.

ÖzgürKon 2021 will be held on May 15-16, 2021; online.[citation needed]
